Thrive Not Survive: 5 Key Areas
If I want to be in control and to come out of this situation with a better version of me, a better approach to life and better relationships with other people, I’m going to need a plan.
For many people, working from home is going to be a new experience, some people are going to be more familiar with it so let’s look at it for those new-work-from-homers.
There are five areas that we will work through.
Energy
What we eat and drink impacts how we feel throughout the day. Looking at how much time we are spending in front of screens and our circadian rhythms.
Rhythm
Many people will tell you to build structure into your day and for some people that might work but for others, taking a more fluid approach to work will be more appropriate. It’s about personalising your schedule to you.
Connection
We are physically removed from people but potentially more than ever, this is a time to connect with people in a more meaningful way.
Movement
Removing a commute and general movement from our day can impact our physical and mental health. Being allowed outside once a day, we need to consider how we can add movement into our day.
Kindness
This is a period of change and change is hard. Be kind to yourself and to others will build our spiritual satisfaction. Things are changing every day, it takes us and others a bit of time to catch up.
And these are all things that if we can harness them whilst working from home, we will find the transition back into whatever our new ‘normal’ is going to be on the other side.
I want to Thrive not just Survive.
