Why Stress In The Workplace Matters To Stress Matters
Stress Matters was founded with a simple mission – to make workplace wellbeing easy and manage stress in the workplace, so everyone can expect to work in an environment that supports their wellbeing.
We started with a ‘simple’ challenge of trying to reduce stress in the events industry. It’s where our founder Laura comes from. She experienced first-hand how stress in the workplace has a direct impact on your health. She knew something desperately needed to be done, after experiencing the debilitating effects of burnout herself, and watching her team members getting literally sick with stress.
Laura went on a mission not just to explore managing stress at work. In addition, she was hellbent on helping change cultures in businesses and entire industries by removing stigma and creating positive environments.

Our B Corp™ Ecosystem
Applying for B Corp™ status means leaving no stone unturned in terms of a company’s social and end environmental ecosystem. It’s a challenging process that digs deeply. At Stress Matters, we couldn’t be prouder to be awarded B Corp™ status in March 2022, proving beyond reasonable doubt that everything we do has people and the environment at heart.
All Stress Matters programmes are measured against the impact they have on each individual member of your team and your business as a whole. In addition, we also measure the impact our work has at industry level
It’s a key part of our ethos – gathering insights and measuring impact.
believe their colleagues are suffering from stress
reference high workloads as the reason for their stress
of workers use alcohol, cigarettes or drugs to cope with stress
of the industry work more than 61 hours a week
In addition, we’re also very conscious of the impact we have in the way we operate.
It’s our goal to have a positive impact on people and the planet. To this end, we’ve reviewed every part of our operation to ensure we’re being as environmentally conscious as we can.

Becoming B Corp Isn’t the End, It’s Just the Beginning
We couldn’t be more highly delighted to achieve B Corp certification. It’s not (and was never meant to be) an easy process. It’s a landmark representing the beginning of a journey, not the end of one.
B Corp status is core to our value proposition. It publicly demonstrates and recognises the commitments we’ve been making since we started the business. It’s our solid foundation to keep building higher and stronger on.
